Professional removal of the Diesel Particulate Filter /DPF/FAP

Regeneration of the particulate filter does not solve all problems

Developing modern filtration devices for vehicle exhaust systems, designers planned to create them in such a way that the driver feels the least possible inconvenience during their operation. There are two types of filter elements mainly installed in European vehicles:

1) Filter DPF - closed - has a simple structure and mechanically delays larger particles of soot. This filter requires periodic cleaning or active regeneration;

2) Filter FAP - a more progressive model of the filter with automatic recovery function when a certain level of contamination is reached, has more sophisticated electronic control.

You can find the cars that are equipped with filters that represent a symbiosis of these two modifications.
Basically two main types of filter systems differ in purification method. The first (DPF) requires flushing or forced regeneration, the FAP filter is computer controlled and cleaning occurs automatically.

The process of regeneration of the filter includes burning and disposal into the atmosphere of the accumulated soot. This is possible if considerable temperature is reached in the filter shell. In the case of forced regeneration, it is achieved by adding special additives to the fuel, which make the temperature rising. Automatic regeneration occurs after the engine reaches increased load mode, which leads to an increase in temperature in the exhaust system and the combustion of soot. In both cases, the motor has to experience significant congestion, increasing fuel consumption. Changing the filter is also not very acceptable, because the cost of the replacement filter cartridge is equivalent to 1,000 USD. Having experienced a lot of inconveniences, many car owners are trying to remove the particulate filter. It is quite easy to remove particulate filter - this requires a set of tools. For FAP and DPF systems removal consists of two stages:

The first stage is mechanical removal of the filter from the exhaust system. This operation allows to increase the power of the engine, because the exhaust gases are free to leave the system without experiencing the resistance of the filter. In addition, if you remove the DPF, it completely eliminates the need for frequent access to the service for cleaning the filter element and replace it. As a result, DPF removal leads to significant savings, including fuels and specialized additives and reagents.

The second stage is making changes in the car's computer software.
